Yeah, I'm using an enchanter mod...the game gets kinda tedious after Lv100 (Max level mod) if you don't have a few decent enchants.

Yeah, I'm using an enchanter mod...the game gets kinda tedious after Lv100 (Max level mod) if you don't have a few decent enchants.

10 enchants as astandard target is quite possible.
If you do all the enchants at Shrines, the expected overall disenchant rate is ~43%.
If you do the first 5 enchants in town, and the last 5 at Shrines, the expected overall disenchant rate is still only 52%.

The town enchants are not-so-good for low level base weapons, of course, due to the measly results, but it is a decent way to start out if you have a base item level of 40 or so.

Another trick is to wait until you have 2-3 identical base items, of which you can only ever equip 1. Enchant them all alternately until all but one of them has failed.

For stuff that has really excellent or unique starting enchants, like +Skills, you may want to plan on only 8 layers of enchantment. That improves the overall survival chance by better than 10%.

?Question for the really long-time players out there: Does anyone know if heirlooming and starting with a new character re-sets the disenchant chance back to 1% / 2%?

To answer your question about a month late dreamrider, on the 360 version heirlooming an item does not reset the enchant percentage. Also a single item heirloomed repeatedly will only lower the level requirement by a max of 5. After that it just receives minor bonuses.
