[Merchant] Anya's Gems Emporium

Postby valdr » Sun Nov 15, 2009 7:53 am

This mod adds a new merchant that sells gems only. Her inventory is based on SOCKETABLES_SPAWN class so it's based on player's level - the higher your level is the better gems are available, Anya also sells Chaos Gems. It's a nice mod for all high level players bored of looting gems.
There are 28 gems available for sell but this number may be changed in merchant_gems2.dat file. Just change <INTEGER>MIN and <INTEGER>MAX values in TREASURE group.
I've tried to increase prices for this merchant, but haven't found the way to do it (I've played with PRICE REDUCTION effect and negative values but it doesn't seem to work). I'll be glad if someone finds out if this is possible and how to do it.

That's very cool, and useful.

In addition to lowering the amount of gems she carries, I also threw on a trinket spawn, that way she's like a real jeweler, gems and jewelry.

I would love to see a way to increase the prices at certain vendors, that would be really useful for a couple of mods.

Double posted to get the bump.

If you set her unittype fro MERCHANT to GAMBLER then those gems will be stupid expensive. They'll also be named ???? but if you have a gem icon mod installed it should be pretty obvious what you're buying.

I just purchased a normal skull for 13,057 gold and I have 10 levels of barter.

After some gameplay I see now she may be standing a bit too far to transmuter.

Agreed, maybe move her a bit closer? I'll look at it and do it myself actually. Gives me a chance for to get more familiar with the editor.

Great mod though, wish I had thought of it :P

I use the Additional Stash mod, which provides a stash right next to the transmuter, so distance doesn't really matter. It's just a short trip buying the gems to the transmuter and depositing gems into the stash.

The number of gems is random between min and max if you want to fix one value you should set both to it.

Have you deleted MERCHANT_GEMS2.DAT.adm file before running the game? If so does it also happen to newly created characters?
There are still problems in Torchlight with refreshing changed mods.

Awesome mod and a great idea, especially for high level characters! Is there any chance to put this on Torchlight Insider of Rapidshare or elsewhere? RGF is down for me and I can't get this mod.

In Pak.zip, go into the following...

./media/units/items/socketables

Decode every dat in there, and you'll find that each one has a VALUE property, and this is the price of the gem. If you want to raise the cost, just raise that number! Simple as. Though it does mean overwriting other mods that change gems.

Thanks, but I'm looking for a solution to increase prices for particular merchant not items and if this is possible only his selling prices.

Is it possible to make the gem merchant sell the full gems (at the full blown price of course)? now that would be really useful instead of having to click on cracked or dull or whatever the names are tens if not hundreds of time to go about transmuting them all myself. Or maybe the full gems are already in the inventory, because I honestly didn't check each and every gem, I just looked for the full gems since they appear a bit different on some of them.
