How do you plan to get the working in game?
Every time i build outside the yellow area and then try to run it by using a portal the game crash.

Note for everyone, if you are not gonna use a chunk palette's limits you can skip the chunk palette parts.

I created a custom Dungeon and Rule Set in Torched, using the Dungeon Editor located under Data Editors. The floor from the screenshots is a 1x1SINGLE_ROOM_BOSS chunk type. Here is a screenshot from Torched:

Since the entire level is a single chunk there is no need to stay within the yellow lines. I figured this out by looking at the Dungeon Rule Sets used in the main storyline dungeon. Runic used this technique on all of the major boss encounter levels. To get my chunk working in game I just cloned one of the original boss room Rule Sets and made the needed changes to incorporate my chunk.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

Just started a new dungeon / chunk set this morning. Its a cave set but adds in some of the sunken temple elements to create an Underground temple. Not sure how big or far I will take it. Should be done in a week or so.

VERY early screen shot of the elements mixed. But gives a sense of what the look will be like.

I really wish I could get custom tileset pieces to work to make some transition pieces, maybe down the line it will happen.

^ will be interested to see how you go. I hate the Cave tile set with a vengeance and wouldn't mind a breath of fresh air breathed into it. :D

Ruins in 'space' remind me a lot of Cliver Barker's Undying (in a good way!). Much cooler than just a bunch of floating bricks with lizards.

The cave sets are my least favorite of all the sets. Hoping to come up with something fun. So far I got 3 chunks laid out, and seems pretty good so far.

Nothing scripted at this point in time. Just a big ol' level that took me a few weeks to get in order. Feedback welcome!

I agree with everyone else that is an epic looking map.

Had some spare time, so I decided to have a little fun and made this:

If you haven't noticed yet, its Dungeon 1 from Zelda NES with a little Torchlight Update. Not Done yet of course.

I did a test with 3 way chunks and got it to work, but decided not to go forward with it. The random layout always gave me something like this:

And never anything like this:

Really it would be much more interesting for me to have a series of the second version, and you wouldn't need dead ends placed at all.

Hmm I have been trying (I have up) to get 3 way to work.
I never got it to work , I don't really know why.
It was working to get Entrance_E - EW - Exit_W working
I got Entrance_E - NE - Exit_S working
But as soon as I tried Entrance E, NEW, Exit_S it didn't work.
The reason I want 3 way is just for the reason you don't want it. Dead end chunks.

Now I can't remember exactly how they fit together because it's confusing. But I looked in layout just to see how it would look like with a preset layout so it was fitting together.

Part of my current dungeon Underground temple. Currently have 6 chunks all laid out, just finishing up some with some dirt and lighting. Then on to checking monsters. Hopefully this will get done today and then just doing the Boss level, which is basically laid out.

aholman: in order to use a 3-way, ie a NEW, you have to also have all possible dead end chunks, ie just a E. Otherwise it will crash when trying to generate your level. Not sure if that was your problem, but just thought I'd point it out.

Geosmores: sweet, you're moving pretty quickly on that one.
